I2SARE FINAL CONFERENCE

September 30 and October 1, 2010, Budapest

Organized by the team of the project
Health Inequalities Indicators in Regions of Europe (I2SARE)

The I2SARE team is pleased to announce the final conference of the project (Program).

For more than 10 years, ISARE and I2SARE partners have worked on public health indicators at the regional level with the aim to assist European, national, regional and local decision makers in developing their health policy, through a better understanding of the health status of the population and of health inequalities at regional and sub regional level.

Following an extensive data collection exercise in nearly all regions of the European Union, health profiles have been produced for each of these regions with the aim of providing an overview of the health, health care and social conditions in the region for decision makers. We have also sought to develop a classification system for regions which allows similar regions to be grouped together. We hope that this will encourage local decision makers to establish contact with regions with similar profiles and to work together for the improvement of health in their regions. A directory of institutions involved in Health information has been produced as part of this of this project and has been published on the I2SARE website.

The purpose of the final I2SARE conference is to present the results of the project. This conference will be also an opportunity to discuss about the means to reduce health inequalities in the regions of Europe. The objectives and methodology of several European projects focusing on health inequalities or regional indicators will also be presented during the meeting.

The I2SARE final Conference will be held on September 30 and October 1, 2010 in Budapest. A program of the final conference is available here.

We hope that local decision makers in the field of health, health care and social policy will attend, as well as representatives from national and regional organisations involved in the production of health information.
